THE 188TH CRYBABY BRIGADE:
A SKINNY JEWISH KID FROM CHICAGO FIGHTS HEZBOLLAH

“A hilarious take on the sometimes absurd alternative reality of the IDF.”
– The Jerusalem Post

The 188th Crybaby Brigade: A Skinny Jewish Kid from Chicago Fights Hezbollah is my comedic memoir about my service in a combat unit of the Israeli army.

The book opens with my first visit to the IDF Induction Center outside Tel Aviv, then chronicles my journey through basic training, Tank School, and a tour-of-duty in Lebanon in operations against Hezbollah. I wrote the book six years after I got out of the army; it took that long to process the experience and figure out the narrative arc.

I’ve developed the content from Crybaby Brigade into a seriocomic lecture. To inquire about a presentation for your community, contact me at [email protected].

BALABOOSTA: BOLD MEDITERRANEAN RECIPES TO FEED THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE

In 2011, Israeli chef and two-time Chopped! Champion Einat Admony asked me to co-write her cookbook, Balaboosta.

Why would a chef hire a comedian to help her write a cookbook? Simple: Einat’s pretty funny herself, and she wanted her cookbook to be not only instructional but entertaining. Over the course of a year, I interviewed Einat and composed comedic essays that introduce the various sections of the book.

The New York Times called Balaboosta an “inventive and heartily satisfying twist on Middle Eastern-meets-Mediterranean cuisine.” The book made several “10 Best Cookbooks of 2013” lists.

“Belly Laughs
Occasionally, Einat and I perform a live stage show together called “Belly Laughs.” It’s part stand-up comedy, part cooking-demo.

THERE IS NO BALL

In March 2022, St. Martin’s Press will publish There Is No Ball.

My co-writer is tennis coach Ian Westermann. Ian is the Head Pro and founder of EssentialTennis.com, the world’s largest online portal of tennis instruction.

In There Is No Ball, Ian and I share everything he knows about tennis technique, strategy, and the mental side of the game, based on his 30 years as a competitive Junior, Top-20 ranked NCAA doubles player, and high-performance coach.

To help bring Ian’s incredible philosophy to the masses, we developed a joint book presentation / on-court tennis masterclass. To inquire about a presentation in your community, email us at [email protected].
